INTRODUCTION
For the 'Storyboard and Animatic' I will begin by creating a storyboard of scenes which will be placed in the trailer to understand the order and effects that will be used. This helps to gather a better understanding of how the trailer will play out and what the scenes will look like. I will then go on to create an animatic, which is overlapping my images over an existing trailer. The trailer I used for this was 'I Spit In Your Grave' and I placed my images and captions over where they made cuts in their trailer.
EXISTING TRAILER - (I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE)
When assigned the task of creating a storyboard and animatic we were given the trailer of 'I Spit On Your Grave' to use as a template for the pacing, cuts and transitions of our animatics. In addition to this we also had to use the soundtrack as a template to know where to place slow paced scenes and montages scenes so that the animatic would become more effective.
STORYBOARD
When creating the storyboard we created the important scenes and re-drew a few scenes to allow the image to become more aesthetically appealing.
DRAWN ANIMATIC
The early stages of the animatic seems to have flowed well and had been paced in sync with a good transition throughout the trailer. This was effective as it allowed us to explore how the teaser trailer may look when we get to the production stages of the final products. However, one big change which was necessary in this animatic was the repetition of shots between (40-50 seconds). This would have effectively been the montage scene of the trailer as the soundtrack began to flow at a much faster pace and with more precision in the cuts. This has allowed us to understand that we neeed to create more shots that would become suitable for a montage scene which would show several peices of footage by frames rather than seconds. Although, after the (50 seconds) mark the jump scene seemed to be effective as the eerie audio within the soundtrack built up tension to make the pop-up of the antagonist more effective for when an audience member watches the trailer and gets a slight fright of goosebumps towards the end. This would preferably be incorporated within the sound of the trailer as an eerie audio would work well with a J-Horror. This animatic was created using Final Cut Pro X.
PHOTOBOARD
Once we had been able to come up with a few new shots we then went out to take images using stock actors to play the roles of our characters in the trailer so that we would be able to gain a more visual understanding of how the trailer may turn out. This was effective as it allowed our vision to become more aesthetically pleasing and create a better understanding of the final outcome. These images were taken using a Canon 700D camera with a 18-135mm Lens (excluding image of clock). The image of the clock was taken with the use of a Samsung Galaxy S3 camera phone.

PHOTOBOARD CAPTIONS - (BACKGROUND TEMPLATE)
In addition to this we also decided to add templates for our captions which were created in Adobe After Effects CS6 by using a Fog Light effect to create a drifting smoke like background and overlaying it with the text of the captions in Final Cut Pro X.
PHOTO ANIMATIC
With changes in contrast to the drawn animatic this is the further developed photo animatic containing a few more shots and leaving no spaces or gaps unfilled. This was also created using Final Cut Pro X.
MANGA IMAGES (RAW)
Keeping in with the traditional japanese theme, we thought that it would be suitable to create a manga. Manga's are Japanese comics which were developed as a style in the late 19th century of Japan. They have a long and complex pre-history in earlier Japanese art. This would help to keep in with the traditional japanese culture and would also be a good way of promoting our product as it is japanese. We created the manga with the use of a phone application called 'Manga Camera' which allowed us to convert our photo board images into a manga style drawing. This also allows our product to stand out with the Japanese market as well as in China, the USA and the UK; which are popular manga consumers and among the most richest nations allowing our product to gain a better use of advertisement and receive a higher revenue of income.
MANGA ANIMATIC
In addition to the comic strip we thought that it would be suitable to create an animatic with the manga so that we could see the development between drawn animatic, photo animatic and manga animatic. This was also created using Final Cut Pro X.
