INTRODUCTION
THE YUREI
Here, I produced a mood board delving into Yurei's and the different types you can have. I chose to have a night sky with a full moon as my background as it
reflects the mysterious and dark side to the spiritual entities. Additionally it also says a lot about the genre of J-Horror with a lot of it being dark and occasionally taboo. With this mood board I tried to keep a pattern with all of the images being quite faded out and blended in with the background. It connotes the idea of this antagonist being difficult to find and how they are lurking everywhere. I used effects on the images and the "feather" option so that I could blend the images effectively against the background. One difficulty I had was keeping the consistency as some images differed from the rest. For example, I found the image on the top left difficult to blend in with the rest of the background much like the other images, and so it came out a different colour from the rest which affects consistency.

FALSE HERO
I produced a mood board for my false hero. I included faces of real life actors to give a greater understanding of what my false hero would look like, mostly being labeled a "pretty boy" and in fact revealing himself to be a coward. I chose to have a shatter effect background to represent the idea of the "big hero" falling apart and not being complete. Also, the blue connotes the hidden sadness of the false hero. Here, I used a shatter background and blended the images in with effects such as "screening" and I feathered all of the images so they would fit onto the canvas with no white space. I used the Eraser tool more frequently in this mood board and attempted to smooth the edges of the images so that it would blend in better. I also feathered and added effects onto the images so it would reflect a smooth transition between the images and the background. One disadvantage to the Eraser tool is that sometimes I smoothed out too much and the image afterward did not have the same effect as it would have if I didn't use the tool.
FINAL GIRL
The Final Girl is an interesting character as the dark background suggests. It portrays her enigma and mystery, as the starry night also suggests she has an open mind. I included what kind of outfit she would wear as it says a lot about her as a person, she is rather laid back and not too open. I included past Final Girls in my mood board as they will reflect a majority of my character's personality. I feathered all of the images here and screened them so that it could fit smoothly onto my moodboard. Also, I made the main image a lot more vibrant than the other images so that it could represent my ideal final girl. One problem with this moodboard was that the clothing became too dominant and I didn't focus as much on the final girl herself. Some of the colours amongst the clothing also contradicts the dark background and so it is not as consistent as I would like it to be. Additionally, alongside the colours, I also believe some of the images I chose to include are inappropriate to the final girl, such as the satchels and some of the t shirts, which again affects the overall look of the final girl.
THE PRINCESS
My princess mood board reflects the vulnerable nature in which a "princess" is subject to in films. I added images of princesses being saved by heroes and this connotes the idea of vulnerability and how they almost have to be saved every time. The background represents a princesses childish outlook on life, about how every thing is like a fairytale. I also made the background grey to represent the dullness of the princess. I feathered and screened a lot of the images so it would fit onto the canvas smoothly. I also made the effect of the main image different to the others to represent my ideal "princess" as she looks like a princess, however, her intentions are selfish as the non verbal communication suggests. I allowed my princess room in the middle of the mirror as it connotes the selfishness, as well as her vanity as being placed in the mirror suggests.
THE HERO
The mood board for my Hero is set as black and red. The black represents the mysterious feel to my hero and the red for the burning passion inside his soul
to get them out alive. My background is also of a nebula and this represents the adventurous mind of my hero, who likes to explore and fulfill his curiosity. I included what kind of outfit my hero would wear as I believe this is important in deducing the kind of person my character is. I feathered all of the images on here so that it would fit efficiently onto my mood board. I also added effects and noise on some of the images to blur them out a little so they blend in better. I also made the main background of the nebula the most domineering as it creates a greater effect on how mysterious my character is, rather than focusing on his clothing. A problem I had with this moodboard was that some of the clothing came out a lot more vibrant than the others and so this affected the overall consistency of my moodboard.

OVERALL
Here is my overall mood board for the final concept. It depicts a Yurei who is out for revenge, as the main image denotes. I included the images of my characters underneath the Yurei as it connotes the idea that she is out watching them. I made the background mainly white as most funerals in Japanese culture were traditionally white. I also have a calmer looking picture of the Yurei as it connotes that she was once human too and is not always volatile and dangerous. I also included the synopsis as I believe it is key in deducing the story briefly. For the other images, I feathered them and used the Eraser tool to smooth the images out and placed them on the other side of the canvas. One problem I had with this was making the images fit the overall colour scheme, however, I overcame this by finding the right effect to add to the images in order to match them.
